The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has changed the fingerprinting contract which impacts every fingerprinting location throughout the Commonwealth. We expected deployment to happen seamlessly as we began working on compliance requirements when we were notified of the impending changes during the summer months.
Unfortunately, it seems that there will be some interruption of service.
Cogent, the former fingerprinting company, has just informed us that they will be terminating their fingerprinting services as of Saturday, the 18th of November.
For anyone who has registered to have your fingerprinting done through Gemalto/Cogent – if you do not get your fingerprints completed by the dates listed above, you will need to restart your process with IDEMIA/MorphoTrust.
We do not have an installation date schedule from IDEMIA/MorphoTrust at this time. We will keep this site updated with information as soon as it is available. While we, Elizabethtown Public Library, have no control over this situation – we do regret the inconvenience. Here is the statement that we received from Gemalto/Cogent about the termination date:
Please be advised that effective at close of business November 18, 2017,
Gemalto (Cogent) will no longer be providing fingerprint services for ‘new
applicants’. All ‘new applicants’ must be pre-registered and fingerprinted prior to
11/18/17. Those unable to meet this deadline will be required to restart the process
with the new Commonwealth supplier, MorphoTrust.
Applicants that have been notified their prints were rejected for quality purposes will
have an additional time-period (18th-27th) to complete the reprint process with
Cogent. Any ‘reprint applicants’ who have not completed the reprint process with
Cogent within this additional time-period, will be eligible to continue the reprint process
with the new supplier.
Gemalto (Cogent) apologizes for this last minute update.
